Recent observations of 74 globular clusters showed that the luminosity functions of blue stragglers are significantly different for massive and less massive clusters. From analytic estimates, it has been claimed that the shift in the peak of the observed luminosity function may be due to the collisional blue stragglers that are produced mainly in massive clusters, where, on the other hand, the channel of formation of blue stragglers from the primordial binaries is exhausted. We approach this problem using a Monte Carlo code that employs detailed binary population synthesis, considering the cluster models that best describe massive and less massive globular clusters. The preliminary results will be reported.
