Three bright rimmed dust clouds were mapped in the main line of the CH ground state and compared to published CO maps. Complementary observations were also made in the lower CH satellite line, in the 6-cm H2CO line and in the 1667 MHz OH line. The results indicate that the CH density does not fall off as rapidly as CO at the bright rims and that the CH line broadens at the rim. These results suggest that the CH abundance may be enhanced in the vicinity of bright rims and that at least some fraction of the observed CH emission may originate from postshocked gas, explaining the observed increase in linewidth.
