The evolving spectral emissions of the newly-formed shell star CH Cygni are discussed. Broad absorption features in H, He I, Mh II, Si II, Ca II, and several Fe II transitions have been observed recently, in contrast to previous measurements which displayed only continuum lines and weak emissions. An absence of Sr II absorption lines in the presence of strong Sc II emission lines suggest a radiation field ionizing Sr and Ca but not Sc. No model has been developed for the object due to the difficulty in explaining the emission features. The geometry of the system is suggested to be amenable to investigation with speckle measurements made from different angles, i.e., from different positions on the earth.
