The null-convergent generic weakly asymptotically simple and empty space-time investigated by Newman (1983 and 1984) and Clarke and de Felice (1984) is analyzed. New necessary and sufficient conditions for this space-time to be future asymptotically predictable, involving the nonexistence in the future asymptotic limit of accessible naked singularities of less than a certain finite strength and the absence of causal pathologies which extend to infinity, are obtained. The critical remarks of Tipler (1984) regarding the present approach to cosmic censorship are shown to be based on misunderstandings of its relationship to the hypothesis of Penrose (1978) and of the mathematical content of the concept of null strong curvature.
