B, V and I photometry is presented for eclipsing binary HV 2274 located in the LMC. Over 100 data points were acquired in each filter to an estimated precision of 0.01-0.015 mag using the CCD system at the Mount John University Observatory, New Zealand, during 1990. The light curves show clear evidence of an eccentric orbit in a detached system. We present a revised ephemeris. Analyzed with the Etzel EBOP code, our light curves suggest an orbital eccentricity of 0.128 (+/-0.008) and inclination of 88.2 deg (+/-0.2 deg). The system plausibly comprises two fairly similar, early B stars. We combine our eclipse timing with those of Gaposhkin (1977) to derive an apsidal rotation period of 123 (+/-3) yr.
