Hipparcos Catalogue data has indicated the possibility of short period Mira (red giant) variables. The period indicated for these stars (just a few days) would be quite peculiar for Mira variables, which typically exhibit periodicity on the order of a few hundred days. Previous research conducted at the University of Montana indicated four likely candidates from a field of seventeen. Further research was conducted on these four stars over the summer and fall of 2004 to investigate possible short period variability. Photometric data was recorded using an SBIG ST-9E CCD camera with a 16-inch Cassegrain reflector at the UM Blue Mountain Observatory. The observatory is located just outside Missoula, MT at an elevation of about 6300 feet. Photometric data was reduced using the SBIG CCDOPS software, with visual magnitudes obtained using differential photometry. Light curves were made with the reduced data in order to examine possible sinusoidal variation.
