The present study discusses a novel color-magnitude diagram (CMD) for the galactic globular cluster NGC 7006 based on B and V CCD photometry of about 3000 stars to a limiting magnitude of about 24. The overall morphology of the main branches was found to reproduce what was essentially earlier results, namely, that the horizontal branch (HB) is unusually red for the cluster metallicity. This confirms that NGC 7006 is a genuine member of the group of clusters affected by the 'second parameter' syndrome. The difference in luminosity between the HB and the main sequence turnoff is 3.50 + or - 0.12. The mean HB color in the inner regions (not more than 30 arcsec) is significantly shifted toward bluer colors compared to the outer regions. The combination of the 'normal' location of the turnoff with the peculiar radiation variation in HB morphology suggests the exclusion of age as the second parameter in this cluster.
