New CCD photometry is presented for 607 stars in the old open cluster NGC 2243. The resulting C-M diagram is used to show that at least 30 percent of the total population is binary stars. Also, the observations show a gap just below the top of the main sequence, six blue straggler condidates, and an incipient red horizontal branch. Observed and synthetic C-M diagrams are compared and used to determine the main parameters of NGC 2243.
