CCD photometry in B, V colors of the globular cluster NGC 7492 is presented for complete samples down to the main sequence. The color magnitude diagram (CMD) allows a detailed discussion of the cluster properties. The main conclusions are: (1) CMD metal abundance indicators lead to [Fe/H] = -1.51±0.2. (2) A primordial helium abundance of Y = 0.23±0.07 is derived. (3) Different methods used to determine the age of the cluster converge to a value of 15.6±2.0 Gyr adopting [O/Fe] = 0.0, E(B-V) = 0.01, (m-M)v = 17.15±0.15. (4) The horizontal branch is blue and without any blue tail.
