A CCD photometer was used with a spectroheliograph to obtain digitized monochromatic images of the Sun in the He I 1083 nm, Hα, and K Ca II lines. Optical characteristics of the CCD detector operating in a quasi-monochromatic mode in the visible and near IR regions are studied. Algorithms and software were developed to remove the drawbacks inherent in this kind of photodetectors. The Hα and K Ca II images obtained in Jul - Aug 1993 and Jun - Oct 1994 during chromospheric flares and other nonstationary processes are used to determine heliographic positions and intensities for the solar activity patrol program. The He I 1083 nm image sets were used to study changes in the line depth in the course of two chromospheric subflares and in the accompanying filaments. The flares were observed in absorption only. The tangential velocity of propagating perturbation in one of the filaments is estimated.
