Using differential small-aperture photometry on CCD frames, accurate B and V light curves for the 16th-magnitude eclipsing binary NJL 5 in the Omega Centauri field (Niss et al., 1978) have been obtained. The adopted reduction method is discussed in some detail, and an evaluation of errors is carried out. An unexpected source of systematic color-dependent errors is pointed out. If this pitfall is avoided internal errors of around 0.01 mag are obtained. External errors are estimated to be 0.02 mag for NJL 5 due to the severe crowding of stars around the variable. The final light curves with 235 points in V and 79 in B are tabulated in a table.
