Accreting white dwarf binaries constitute the second most common category of Galactic sources in the Swift BAT 22 month survey catalog. Of the >450; total BAT sources, about 35 are thought to contain an accreting white dwarf. Of these, 29 have been identified as cataclysmic variables (CVs) or CV candidates, while the rest are symbiotic stars. The BAT list is complementary to, and similarly useful as, the list of CVs found in the INTEGRAL catalog, because the latter goes deeper near the Galactic plane but the BAT catalog is more sensitive at higher latitudes. With the combined list, we confirm that the hard X-ray selected CVs are dominated by magnetic CVs of the intermediate polar (IP) subtype, also known as DQ Her type stars. In this paper, we compare the BAT selected IPs with the INTEGRAL sample, and with the catalog of all known or suspected IPs. Furthermore, we investigate the collective properties of IPs and other hard X-ray detected CVs using the fluxes, colors, and spatial distribution from the BAT survey.
