Cartan Calculus, Dirac Equation, Neutrinos, Spin-1/2 Particles
Scientific paper
The Dirac equation for spin - 1/2 particles in curved spacetime is formulated using Cartan calculus. Unlike previous formulations, this method is easy to use because it expresses the Dirac equation in terms of well known objects like partial derivatives and special relativistic Dirac matrices. It allows a simple and direct treatment of neutrinos in homogeneous nonisotropic universes and in plane-wave geometries. These solutions are compared and contrasted with the corresponding solutions containing electromagnetic radiation.
