Using a combined set of 2MASS and uvby data, we have identified a population of metal rich F stars with potentially extensive circumstellar dust disks about them. We have noticed these stars because of their excessive near-infrared flux, which is substantially higher than that expected from reddening only. The brightest of them, V ~ 8 or brighter, turn out to be IRAS sources, which is consistent with the presence of heated dust. Examination of the log Te - MV diagram has revealed that the stars are extremely young, suggesting that the potential disks may still be in the planetisimal accretion phase. One of these stars, HD 144432, which is an extremely bright IRAS source and posseses an extreme NIR excess, was argued in the literature to be a pre-mainsequence star. It is likely that there are more pre-mainsequence stars among the identified candidate disk-bearing systems.
