This paper advances the thesis that, by using the double angle-mirror
system, by choosing the instrumental almucantar to pass through the
celestial pole, and by simultaneous recordings of the time and the
azimuth of the star crossing the almucantar, we can greatly increase the
effectiveness of equal-altitude instruments in star catalogue work.
