We use Hinode/SOT Ca II, G-band and blue continuum broadband observations to study the presence and power of high frequency acoustic waves at high spatial resolution. Previous observations with TRACE, which were limited by the 1 arcsec resolution, and 1D numerical simulations (Fossum & Carlsson, 2005) have been used to constrain the possible role of high frequency waves in the heating of the quiet Sun chromosphere. We will use the higher spatial resolution Hinode data and comparisons with both 1D and 3D numerical models to study the amount of high frequency power at smaller scales, and whether that power is sufficient to heat the quiet Sun chromosphere.
