We present a first attempt of observing filaments of the warm-hot intergalactic medium (WHIM) in emission(HI Lya, OVI) as seen by the Faint Intergalactic Medium Redshifted Emission Balloon (FIREBALL) at redshifts z=0.6-1.0, and compare our results with expectations from state-of-the-art large-scale structure formation simulations.
This attempt is aided by delineating the filamentary structures using the known galaxies in the observed fields as priors.
