We studied the effects of a wet radome on the determination of the atmospheric opacity and the calibration of radioastronomical observations. We derived an algorithm, based on the measurements of a noise source and of a room temperature load, that compensates the atmospheric absorption even in the presence of a wet radome. The algorithm was tested with observations of Jupiter at 22 and 30 GHz under very different weather conditions and proved to be satisfactory. This result is very important in the evaluation of the reliability of long-term variability studies, where the observations are made during part of the year at night or early morning, when the radome is likely to be wet.
