A method for calculating planetary perturbations which consists of a Poisson series with a single angular variable is proposed and is applied to the case of the Jupiter-Saturn system. Precisions of 0.11 arcsec for Jupiter and 0.19 arcsec for Saturn are obtained. Better convergence is achieved with the present method than with a method relying on a classical series. Means of extending the technique to the four outer planets are considered.
