A new method is developed for determining the light deflection produced by gravitational fields of great many stars. The overall deflection angle was found as the gradient of the deflecting potential that, in turn, is the solution of the Poisson equation. The dependence of the amount of computations on the number of stars is almost eliminated by using an optimum algorithm for the numerical solution of the Poisson equation.
