The possibility is considered to arrive at certain generalizations regarding the spectral types of meteors, taking into account statistical data concerning the observations of meteor spectra. It is found that there is a discrepancy in data reported by Harvey (1971) and by Millman and MacKinley (1963). The discrepancy might be the result of a difference in the brightness of the studied meteors. Data regarding the composition of meteors are listed in a table, taking into account results reported by Harvey (1971), Ceplecha (1965), and Smirnov (1969). Another table provides data concerning the influx of meteoric material.
