A velocity distribution function for photoelectrons at the lunar surface
covered by a hydrogen monolayer is constructed on the basis of detailed
data on the short-wavelength emission spectrum of the sun for a period
of moderate activity. An analytical dependence of the electrostatic
field strength on the height above the lunar surface is obtained.
