Radiative Transfer: Plasma, Plasma: Absorption Spectra
Scientific paper
The authors describe a program developed at CEA Limeil-Valenton for the calculation of absorption spectra. This program is based on the idea of the superconfiguration method proposed by Bar-Shalom et al. and implemented in their super transition arrays code (STA). The authors address several points that they consider as important and new in their approach. Examples of calculated transmission spectra are shown and compared with experimental results. The effect of orbital relaxation in the final superconfiguration on optical transition frequencies is emphasized.
