Some features of the numerical solution of one-dimensional unsteady-state problems of gasdynamics in the presence of gravity are examined. The problem of shock wave propagation in the solar atmosphere is analyzed, showing the effectiveness of applying completely conservative finite-difference schemes to problems of this type. The process of periodic generation of shock waves in the atmosphere in the presence of monotonic dynamic effects at its lower boundary is identified.
