A narrow-band statistical model is used to consider 163 vibrational bands of ozone that emit near 10 microns. The populations of the 71 vibrational states involved are calculated using a statistical equilibrium model which uses a relation proposed by Mlynczak (1989, 1990) for collisional quenching rates. The results of this kinetic model are compared to those of another model based on Rawlins's (1985) studies.
