A numerical investigation is conducted regarding the nonstationary gas-dynamic processes which will operate in a spherically symmetric neutron star having the nonmonotonic equations of state for conditions considered by Migdal (1978). Migdal et al. (1979) have suggested that when the pion condensate forms the envelope of the neutron star might be thrown off. In order to study this question, a network with very fine steps from center to periphery is adopted to perform calculations for an initial configuration with a mass equal to 0.4 solar masses. On the basis of the obtained results of the study, it is concluded that the portion of the detached mass is too small to have anything to do with the formation of a dense core and a density discontinuity.
