Formation rates are calculated for hydrogen mesomolecules consisting of two protons plus a muon; a proton, a deuteron, plus a muon; a proton, a triton, plus a muon; two deuterons plus a muon; a deuteron, a triton, plus a muon; and two tritons plus a muon. Muon-mesomolecule formation mechanisms are described, and the dependence of the formation rates on mesoatom collisional energy is examined. The probability of obtaining monopole E0 transitions during the formation of excited mesomolecules is also computed. Sufficiently good agreement between calculated and experimentally determined formation rates is found for the pp-mu and pd-mu mesomolecules.
