A procedure for calculating ephemerides with a Ti-59 calculator is described, and the characteristics of this programmable calculator are examined. The procedure for determining the geocentric coordinates of a body revolving around the sun involves the calculation of the heliocentric coordinates of both the body and the earth, and then the transformation of the heliocentric coordinates into geocentric coordinates. Formulas for elliptical, parabolic, and hyperbolic orbits are considered, and the calculation of the apparent magnitude, the apparent diameter, and the geocentric equatorial coordinates is explained. Part of the program as well as an example of its application are presented.
