The Coordinate Auroral Experiment using Scatter And Rocket investigations was performed by combining high resolution in-situ measurements using rocket-borne instrumentation and ground-based observations with EISCAT. Magnetosphere/ionosphere interaction during discrete auroral arc conditions was studied by observing energetic charged particle distributions and electrodynamic processes as well as parameters of the ionospheric plasma associated with the arc. The electric and magnetic field configurations and the current systems related to the arc were investigated. Two identical payloads were built and launched with Skylark 12 motors from Andoya (Norway).
