The effect of the magnetic field on the high degree p-modes in the solar atmosphere is still controversial, both from the theoretical and the experimental point of view. The temporal behavior of the 6162 A Ca I line profile in an active region has been observed with the spectrointerferometer of the Arcetri solar tower. It is found that the presence of magnetic field suppresses several modes of oscillation and that the line oscillates almost 'rigidly'.
