The Legacy Science program on Spitzer, From Molecular Cores to Planet-Forming Disks (c2d) is making extremely sensitive infrared observations of low-mass star forming molecular clouds. To understand the evolution of cores to stars, we need complementary molecular line information on the distribution of dense gas, velocity and line width. We propose to map the N2H+ J=1-0 and CS J=2-1 lines toward a subset of 40 southern cores at different evolutionary stages which are being observed by Spitzer. Combined with the Spitzer data and mm/submm continuum observations from both the northern and southern hemispheres, these will yield the most comprehensive database on low-mass star-forming regions from 0.5um to 3mm, allowing for detailed tests of collapse and evolutionary models.
