The Epsilon Cha I dark cloud is nearby (140 pc) site of low-mass star formation. Due to its high Galactic latitude it is an observationally favorable object for study at radio as well as other wavelengths. The central part of the cloud has been mapped in the (C-18)O (1-0) line using both the 1.2-m Columbia Southern Millimeter-Wave Telescope at Cerro Tololo and the 15-m Swedish-ESO Submillimeter Telescope (SEST).
