There are a number of features of 3C 120 that make it an attractive source for the study of the jet phenomenon. It is one of the closest extragalactic superluminal sources so the linear resolution and the angular rates of motion are high. The jet is seen over a very wide range of scale sizes and it is detected at optical and X-ray wavelengths. Finally the AGN is in a galaxy that subtends an arcminute and can be studied in some detail. Here we focus on the current status of our 1.7 GHz VLBA monitoring of the jet and on some aspects of the optical and X-ray detections of jet features.
