The medium-metallicity globular cluster NGC 1261 has been observed in three colors BVR, and the photometry is compared with the CCD work of Bolte and Marleau (1989) in the range region V = 14-23. The agreement is extremely satisfactory over most of this range, showing no systematic deviations. The derived values for the main-sequence turnoff points are located at V(TO) = 20.12 +/- 0.10, with colors at B-V = 0.45 +/- 0.04, V-R = 0.25 +/- 0.02, and B-R = 0.70 +/- 0.04. Color-magnitude diagrams fitted to the theoretical isochrones of VandenBerg and Bell (1985) render a best age of 15 +/- 2 Gyr.
