A two-phase model of interacting molecular clouds and massive stars describing a star formation burst in a galaxy with growing infall rate of gas is investigated. Star formation triggering by massive stars and via cloud-cloud collisions are taken into account. The system demonstrates damped oscillatory behaviour with first maximum being a well-defined burst of star formation.
