Properties of X-ray bursters are discussed, and it is suggested that the dynamic spectra of some X-ray flares in Sco X-1 may be identical to those of type I events in X-ray bursters. The identification of three X-ray bursters with faint blue stars similar to HZ Her and the optical component of Sco X-1 is taken as a strong argument that X-ray bursters are simply a variety of class II X-ray source with certain extreme characteristics.
