We have studied the large sample of bursts from GRO J1744-28, the Bursting Pulsar, observed by the Proportional Counter Array on the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer. This source underwent two outbursts in the early months of 1996 and 1997 which included frequent large X-ray bursts. As this was the first source observed to exhibit frequent X-ray bursts and regular pulsation, it offers the first chance to study the interaction between the mechanisms which are responsible for these phenomena. We have parameterized the bursts and the accompanying phase-shift in the pulsar signal in terms of their magnitude and duration. We attempt here to explain the relation between the bursting and the pulsar in terms of these parameters.
