The paper considers effects of buoyancy on the linear stability problem for spherical accretion which may lead to gravity waves or convection. An adiabatic condition and a sound wave filtering approximation equations are investigated for small scale perturbations, a quasiadiabatic condition, and for the method of exchange of stabilities. It was found that gravity waves and convection are inhibited by spherical accretion motions, probably by advection of energy; convective disturbances tend to be advected to the inner boundary of the potentially unstable region.
