Photographic spectra of standard stars have been averaged, using an already tested procedure, to furnish reliable spectroscopic data for reference purposes. From the distribution of the continuum-normalized signals, and the hypothesis of the absence of emission lines, the authors have computed a confidence interval which can be used to discriminate weak lines from photographic noise during the identification work.
