Cosmological phase transitions may have played important roles in shaping the present Universe. If the transition is of the first order, it proceeds with the nucleation of new-phase bubbles and their growth. The details of the bubble dynamics can affect the consequences of the phase transition. For example, baryogenesis in the course of the electroweak phase transition is known to depend on the bubble-wall velocity. In this work, starting with the effective action that is obtained by making use of the real-time formalism in finite temperature field theory, the author examines how the dynamics of the bubble wall can be investigated.
