CCD BVRI and near infrared JHKL' observations of the infrared luminous quasar IRAS 00275-2859 are presented in this paper. Combined with the data from IRAS and radio bands, it is found out that its energy distribution is different from the one of the first infrared quasar IRAS 13349 + 2438, but close to that of typical quasars. It is reasonable to consider that the radiation from IRAS 00275-2859 in radio, infrared, and optical regions is mostly nonthermal. In addition, we get M(B) = -23.14, far-infrared luminosity L(IR) = 1.58 x 10 exp 12 solar, and L(IR)/L(B) about 10 for IRAS 00275-2859.
