BRITE-Constellation, short for "BRIght Target Explorer Constellation," is a group of four nanosatellites whose purpose is to photometrically measure low-level oscillations and temperature variations in stars brighter than visual magnitude 4. The science payload of the satellite will consist of a small lens-based camera and a two-dimensional array detector, the interline CCD detector KAI-11002C. For the target selection and the mission planning it is essential to have an accurate tool for the simulation of the expected image properties and quality in order to optimize the science output of the mission. The resulting simulations of synthetic time series show that of the 534 bright enough targets approximately 200 can be observed with the needed mmag accuracy to achieve the scientific goals set by the Science Team. Additional improvements and adjustments on the optical system of the telescope could help to further increase this number.
