Latitude determinations with the photographic zenith tube PZT 2 of the geodetic-astronomical observatory Potsdam were analyzed for the period 1981-90 in order to investigate the long-term behavior. The original data were corrected for polar motion. The series of corrected latitude values show a significant linear trend seasonal variations with variable parameters. Investigations for the Czechoslovakian station Ondrejov lead to similar results. The cause of the obtained latitude variations could be systematic errors of the proper motions of the observed stars.
