Some of the Bragg spectrometers which have been proposed in the last 15 years are reviewed, with special emphasis on two classes of spectrometers which are used in combination with grazing incidence telescopes: objective crystal spectrometers and focal plane crystal spectrometers. The Bragg crystal spectrometer on AXAF is described, including the design goals, the contributors to the rocking curve width, minimization of the Bragg angle, and the sensitivity.
