To study the dynamics of electrons trapped in the Earth's magnetosphere, three distinct motions must be considered: gyration, bounce, and drift. Here we study the bounce motion (the particles trajectory following a field line in this case). This study demonstrates effects caused by initially localized magnetospheric perturbations (magnetic storms and substorms) with time scale less than a day or an hour. This phenomenon occurs before diffusion has time to play an important role. The modelling of the bounce motion is based on several assumptions, the most important being the Earth's magnetic field. We choose to construct a field line based on a centered dipole field. This assumption allows us to analyze the influence of the atmospheric thickness into which electrons are lost. Then we compute electron flux along the field line and compare effects of an identical injection near the Earth and in geostationary orbit.
