Spontaneous And Radiative Symmetry Breaking, Theory Of Quantized Fields
Scientific paper
A treatment of Bose-Einstein condensation in a static spacetime with a
possible spatial boundary is given. An interpretation in terms of
symmetry breaking to give a nonconstant scalar-field vacuum expectation
value is provided. Applications to condensation in cavities in flat
spacetime, and to curved spacetime, are discussed.
