The contribution of the horizon energy density to black hole temperature
is examined. It is argued that the claim of Balbinot and Barletta (1988)
that conventional black holes may stop radiating somewhere above the
Planck mass is not yet justified by the available evidence. Stable black
hole solutions with positive specific heat are shown to exist.
