Black Holes, Eternally Collapsing Objects
Scientific paper
Formation of a Black Hole (BH) demands that the surface gravitational redshift of the collapsing object, z → ∞. We point out that as the collapse generated radiation quanta would move in almost closed circular orbits for z ≫ 1, they would get almost trapped by the strong self-gravity. As the outward flux of the trapped radiation would attain its Eddington value, by definition, catastrophic collapse would degenerate into a radiation supported quasistatic state though, theoretically, the collapsing object would asymptotically approach the z = ∞ exact BH state.
