New and unexpected thermodynamical features of uncharged and nonrotating black holes are discussed starting from a backreaction-corrected temperature expression. Some of the most significant thermodynamical quantities, such as entropy, heat capacity, and free energy, are defined. The modifications from the usual black hole thermodynamical scenario are shown to be significant. In particular, it is shown that an apparent second-order phase transition occurs for a value of the mass M = sq rt 3 times alpha, where alpha squared is a parameter which depends on the spectrum of particles radiated by the hole.
