Solar Filaments, Magnetic Fields

The magnetic fields of filaments in photosphere and chromosphere were observed by using the Solar Multi-Channel Telescope which is located in Huairou Observing Station. Through comparing the filtergrams and magnetograms of filaments, we found that there is a close connection between the bipolar magnetic structure and the end or lateral foot of filaments. We suppose the bipolar magnetic structures could stop the filaments prolong further more and might filaments instable and erupt.
